Pasture, Rangeland, and Forage (PRF)

Protect your haying and/or grazing land for lack of rainfall with a subsidized PRF crop insurance policy

About PRF Policies

Pasture, Rangeland, Forage (PRF) insurance provides protection for your operation from impact of below-average area based rainfall and reduced forage production in the lower 48 states. PRF program uses weather data collected by NOAA to determine rainfall for the 2 month index intervals.

Coverage up to 90% of average rainfall for your grazing and/or haying acres.

Here's an overview of how it works:

Flexible protection with coverage divided into two-month intervals throughout the year.

Protects both owned and leased land under agreement for grazing and/or haying operations

Indemnity payments are triggered when rainfall in your area falls below average for the 2 month interval you chose.

Because of the correlation between rainfall and forage production, indemnity payments offset cost of purchasing replacement feed

No upfront premium due -- indemnities first cover your premium, and any excess goes straight to you
